One photo, and the screen is in the simulator

VC Capture is an app we are building right now. You photograph an ad screen with your phone. The AI detects type and format of the surface, blurs passers-by and adds the photo product to your catalogue. It stores the location and your own details along with it. After that, the screen is ready in the Creative Simulator.

Why VC Capture

So far, every new screen in the simulator takes manual work. Someone photographs it, collects the photos, measures the corners, retouches people and creates the product. With VC Capture, that happens in one step on site.

The image analysis behind it already runs in VC Platform. It is how we process our customers' phone photos today. We are building the app for your team right now.

What VC Capture can do

  • Detect ad screens automatically

The AI recognises what kind of surface it is, for example a city light, a billboard or a digital screen. It measures the corners to the pixel, even when the photo was taken at an angle.

  • Blur people

Faces of passers-by are blurred automatically before the photo goes into your catalogue.

  • Masks for anything in front of the screen

If a person, a bike or a car stands in front of the ad screen, VC Capture creates a mask. In the simulator your creative then sits behind it, just as on the street.

  • Photo clean-up (optional)

On request, the AI removes litter, chewing-gum stains and dirt from the surroundings.

  • Blur effects (optional)

Depth blur makes the background calmer. Motion blur shows passers-by walking past. Both draw the eye to the screen.

  • Several screens in one photo

VC Capture detects up to ten ad screens in one photo. You can fill each with its own creative.

  • Straight into catalogue and simulator

The photo becomes a new product or another view of an existing one. You can use it in the Creative Simulator right away.

  • Tags and your own data

Type and format are stored as tags, along with location, viewing direction and capture time. Add your own fields too, such as your product code reference, a site number or a note.

How VC Capture works

  1. 1

    Take the photo

You photograph the ad screen with your phone. Location and time are added automatically.

  2. 2

    Analysis

The AI detects type, format and corners of the surface. Faces are blurred, and anything in front of the screen gets a mask.

  3. 3

    Confirm

You check the proposal and correct it if needed. If the detection is confident enough, VC Capture creates the product on its own.

  4. 4

    Show it in the simulator

The new screen is ready in the catalogue and the Creative Simulator.

Questions about VC Capture

When will VC Capture be available?
VC Capture is in development. The image analysis behind it already runs in VC Platform. If you want to start early, request early access. We will get in touch as soon as the app is ready for pilot customers.
What happens to people in the photo?
Faces are blurred automatically before the photo lands in the catalogue. Anyone standing in front of the ad screen also gets a mask. In the simulator your creative then sits behind that person.
Which data can I store with the photo?
VC Capture stores location, viewing direction and capture time automatically. Your own details come on top, for example the name of the screen, your product code reference, a site number or a note. More fields can be added.
Is the photo altered?
The old advertising on the surface is hidden so that your creative sits cleanly. Everything else is optional: you choose clean-up, depth and motion blur for each photo.
Can we submit photos from our own systems?
Yes. VC Capture has a REST API, and every client gets its own key. Your own apps or systems can submit photos through it.
