Test OOH creatives – no image editing, no mockup file

Whether a creative works is decided on the street, not in the layout. Put it straight onto a real ad surface and see in seconds what is left of it from twenty metres away.

Where the mockup file runs out of road

The classic mockup file is a photo with a cut-out surface. The creative is dropped in, done. For a first impression that is enough – for an approval it rarely is.

Three things are missing. The perspective is only right for that one photo; as soon as the surface sits at a steeper angle, the composite looks wrong. Motion does not exist at all, even though digital surfaces run in a loop. And every new variant, every additional format, means a new file and another round in image editing.

A live simulation turns that around: one creative, any number of surfaces, changes in seconds – and at the end an export you can send straight into the approval process.

What you can really check with it

  • Legibility at a distance

Type sizes that look generous in the layout disappear on the surface. In a real environment you see at what point the message still carries.

  • Contrast and colour

Brightness, saturation and contrast can be adjusted live – so you find the setting that still works on the surface.

  • Crop and bleed

How much of the creative the surface actually shows is something you see before printing, not afterwards.

  • Impact in context

A station concourse is not a white background. The creative sits between light, people and neighbouring surfaces – exactly where it will stand later.

How a test runs

  1. 1

    Drop the creative

Pull the file into the simulator by Drag & Drop – for the preview it stays in the browser.

  2. 2

    Choose a surface

Pick a billboard, City-Light poster or digital screen from the inventory.

  3. 3

    Fine-tune

Set the crop and adjust brightness, saturation and contrast until it carries on the surface.

  4. 4

    Export

Save it as JPG or MP4 and send it into the approval process.

Frequently asked questions about creative testing

Do I need image-editing software?
No. The test runs in the browser; an image editor is not needed.
Which files can I test?
Common image formats for still creatives and video files for digital surfaces. The export is a JPG or an MP4 in HD.
Is my creative uploaded?
Not for the simulation – placement happens client-side in the browser. Only when you deliberately export, or store the creative in the media library, does a file travel to the server, and that server is in Germany.
Can I compare several variants?
Yes, as many as you like. Swap the creative or change the values – the preview updates immediately, without a new file being created.
Are these real locations?
Yes. Everything is based on footage of real ad surfaces in their actual surroundings, not cut-out studio panels.
Does the platform help with the creative itself?
Yes. A built-in AI generator creates ad creatives from a short description, in the right format for the medium in question. Your own creatives can still simply be uploaded.
